BVE 2016: Media asset management firm Suitcase TV will launch MediaStor, the company’s software-defined storage platform, which will be available for the first time as a stand-alone product.

Fraser Jardine, commercial director at Suitcase TV, said: “Existing Suitcase TV customers will be familiar with MediaStor as an outstanding media asset storage platform, which is trusted by major broadcast companies.

“Now, for the first time, and in response to customer feedback, we are launching MediaStor as a standalone product capable of multi-tier storage.”

MediaStor aggregates multiple storage servers into a single unified structure and includes optional HSM functions to enable use of different levels of storage including SSD-based RAID and LTO data tape.

Existing third party storage hardware as well as a range of broadcast video servers can be incorporated into the MediaStor file system, providing tracking and auditing of file histories and metadata handling capabilities, Suitcase TV said.

The new MediaStor Archive enclosure provides up to 128TB in a 1RU enclosure.

Suitcase TV will also showcase iphrame Vision Remote (pictured), a centralised production system that is part of the company’s suite of combined SDI and IP-based offerings.

Iphrame Vision Remote received the IABM Design & Innovation Award at IBC last year.
