Tools join existing Adobe tools, and others from Google, OpenAI and Black Forest Labs
Adobe has added Luma AI, Runway and Pika AI video models to its Firefly suite of tools.
The trio join existing options from Google, OpenAI and Black Forest Labs, as well as Adobe’s in-house tools that include generative extend, which can add a few seconds to an existing scene; and generate video, which can create up to five seconds of content from a text prompt or image. The news comes shortly after Luma revealed new video modification tools to its model.
The aim of adding the new models is to allow users to choose from the various aesthetic styles they are better at producing. A number of image models have also been added, including Runway and Ideogram.
Regardless of which model is used, the content created or edited by these models isn’t used to train AI models - a requirement that is added into Adobe’s partnerships with other tech companies. However, Adobe’s guarantee of commercially safe content only applies to its own AI models. In addition, all content will also have Adobe’s Content Credentials added to it, labeling it as made with AI.
Adobe has also added its video options to Firefly’s Board feature, which allows creatives to ideate and collaborate on several concepts simultaneously. Generated videos can be added to a board to allow all users to see them and make iterative edits.
Finally, Adobe has launched Firefly mobile apps for iOS and Android, meaning users can create and edit content on the move.

Alexandru Costin, VP of generative AI, Adobe, said: “We built the Firefly app to be the ultimate one-stop shop for creative experimentation—where you can explore different AI models, aesthetics, and media types all in one place. Every new partner model we add gives creators even more flexibility to experiment, iterate, and push their ideas further.”
Amit Jain, CEO and co-founder, Luma AI, said: “Luma AI is building multimodal intelligence that empowers creatives to do previously impossible things, and I’m excited to bring our latest model, Ray2, to Adobe customers. Adobe has built an incredible creative platform, and Ray2 in Firefly is a natural fit. With Ray2, designers and storytellers can generate video with exceptional control and realism—from high-motion fidelity to detailed facial animation. This is where Ray2 shines. And with our new Modify Video capabilities, creatives can transform footage from any camera into a cinematic production—whether live-action, anime, or something entirely new. We aim to bring our technology to as many creatives as possible, and this partnership is a huge step in achieving that goal.”
Demi Guo, CEO, Pika, said: “We’re thrilled to join the Adobe Firefly ecosystem and be part of this amazing suite of tools. Pika model 2.2 text-to-video lets you turn your ideas into mind blowing videos with a simple text prompt. We can’t wait to see what people create.”
