Duplication, conversion and multimedia facility Dubbs has built a new media suite for DVD production at its Poland Street home, writes John Oates
The suite has four separate authoring desks, with two running the Sonics systems Fusion and Creator, one using the Liquid Silver NLE (non-linear editor) and the fourth running a demo version of the Digital Rapids system - with the final version due for delivery in January - which will allow real-time streaming and encoding of digital files.A spokesman for Dubbs said: 'We've basically doubled our DVD capacity. Our digital revenue has doubled in the past six months and we're seeing demand across the board, ranging from corporate presentations to feature-length work.'Dubbs digital media producer Seb Tyack said: 'We are responding to the changing needs of our clients who are delivering content in many more ways than our traditional services in video ... Dubbs has always been a content delivery service and we will look to consolidate our position by delivering content in every medium whether digital storage, FTP, streaming, or video.'One new, unnamed person has been taken on to oversee the department.More jobs could also be created in technical support.- Audio post-production house Side is moving to larger premises in Great Titchfield Street after five years in Lexington Street. The new offices will include three purpose-built studios. Studio manager Andy Emery said the move was needed because demand from clients outstripped available studio space.
