150 visual effects shots, completed by Cinesite, on the remake of the 1960s show
Brief To complete 150 visual effects shots on the remake of the 1960s show.
How it was done To recreate the Rover - a floating white ball that is central to the story - a CG 3D model was built in Maya.
This was then referenced and rendered with multi-pass lighting categories. To make Rover expand, shadow work and surface interaction elements were created in 3D and composited with live-action dust elements.
Watch it From 17 April on ITV1
