The Farm Group has spent£430,000 on the refurbishment and upgrade of its Dean Street based facility The Shed.

The Shed has re-opened after three months with new kit worth£250,000.

The new equipment includes:

  • a version 5.0 Unity

  • software and hardware upgrades to all Avid Media Composer and Symphony NLEs

  • new decks including Sony HDW 1800s

Shed has also benefited from a£180,000 interior makeover with a reconfiguration of rooms to create bigger client areas, greater access to the roof terrace, general refurbishment and a fresh paint job.

Chief executive Nicky Sargent said: “The Shed has been hammered for the nine years it's been open and the décor and kit were beginning to show their age. We make sure our facilities are of a very high standard and this takes constant re-investment.”

The Farm's rental division has also invested in new VTRs including two Sony HDCAM SRW 5800s, two Sony HVR-1500s and two Sony J30s. It has also picked up two full version 5.0 Unity systems.

The Shed is an all non linear editing facility featuring Avid Media Composer, Symphony and Unity.
