Trilogy Communications has launched its Intercom Anywhere system for mobile devices.

The application for its Gemini distributed matrix system runs on Android or Windows mobile devices including PCs, tablets and smart phones.

It will allow users remote users to access the full, non-blocking audio capabilities of the firm’s intercom systems.

General manager at Trilogy Communications Barry Spencer said it could be used to cover “special events” or by those working in a temporary broadcasting setup.

“Intercom Anywhere offers our customers the ultimate flexibility with fast deployment and lower logistics and maintenance costs,” Spencer said.

“It is a logical extension of our Gemini product range which builds on our IP expertise to deliver real time, high quality voice solutions across local or global networks.”

Audio mixing and routing will continue to take place in the Gemini matrix, however individual users will access the intercom via a Virtual Panel on the mobile device and a VoIP connection over standard TCP/IP networks.

It will debut at next month’s IBC trade show in Amsterdam.
