TSI Post Production is spending £500,000 on audio facilities following a huge increase in audio bookings over the past year.

TSI's audio bookings have grown 48% over the 12 months to September 2004. Marketing manager Adam Goran said on Monday: 'We are in a position currently where we have to turn work away; we are fully booked in our audio department.'

As part of the investment, TSI's fourth audio suite was completed this week, with upgrades on the three other suites to come. The Fairlight Dream Station Plus and Sidecar package will be installed in all the audio suites, providing an improved 48 tracks.

The upgrade will allow TSI's audio department to pursue more intricate audio work, including drama. The new suite will be Dolby 5.1 capable but has been installed with a 7.1 infrastructure in preparation for anticipated future demand.

Tekcare supplied the kit and Absolute Cad oversaw installation.

TSI's audio department has worked on Ali G in the USAiii for Channel 4 and HBO, Who Rules the Roost for Tiger Aspect/Channel 4 and Test The Nation for Talent TV/BBC1.

In addition, audio assistant Liam Milner has been promoted to dubbing mixer. Milner has previously worked on What The Butler Saw for Endemol/C4 and Is She Really Going Out With Him? for Shine/Sky One. He joins Eli Perl, Richard Ashley and Tom Paget as TSI's fourth dubbing mixer.

TSI is currently post-producing season five of Child of Our Time for the BBC.
