Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas

“Her seasonal barminess is one of the most reliable and entertaining signs that it’s time for the rest of us to start planning our own celebrations in earnest. You can’t help loving her enthusiasm. I won’t be making mantelpiece displays from recycled floorboards, as Kirstie has been known to do. And I definitely don’t have the energy to hide 24 mini-presents inside balloons — another of her wheezes from years gone by. But I might follow her example and take a peek at the neighbours’ Christmas trees this festive season. ‘I love going for a walk at that witching hour when people haven’t closed their curtains yet,’ she admitted. If the police stop me, I’ll say Kirstie told me to do it.”
