Dunning Eley Jones has designed the new channel identity for UKTV People, one of two factual channels being launched by the Flextech/BBC joint-venture this week. Based on the proposition of 'capturing what we do in our world' the identity features colour-saturated images derived from personal snapshots, CCTV and paparazzi photography. Director Paul D'Auria and DoP Mary Farbrother worked with a mixture of 16mm film, digital videotape and 35mm stills to create the 'restless', semi-animated sequences covering activity in four areas; urban, action, tabloid and everyday. The broadcaster is also revamping its other channels. The idents air from Monday (8 March).
