Former Evolutions and Silverglade Associates business development manager Terry Smith has joined VET.

Smith takes on the role of business development consultant at the Shoreditch-based facility and training company.

On the training side Smith’s remit is to build on the company’s current position by developing new industry wide, strategic partnerships and also increasing the range and type of training on offer.

“I’m confident that 2012 will present skills initiatives and opportunities and we fully intend to play a major part in that,” he told Broadcast.

“It’s an exciting challenge and I’m genuinely confident that with the reputation, resources and diverse team we have, I’m very optimistic that 2010 will be a good year at VET”

Alongside its training courses – which cover camera, editing and digital media – VET also operates as a full service post facility.

Smith will be tasked with increasing the company’s activities in broadcast, all-platform content, Blu-Ray and independent short film.

Smith joined Evolutions in June 2009.

He has also spent time as the chief executive of International Broadcast Facilities (IBF) having previously been at the BBC for 25 years.
