Equipment hire company Video Europe has opened a facility in Cardiff to service Wales and the south-west of England.

Based in the TV Centre at Cardiff ‘s Culverhouse Cross, Video Europe Wales will provide cameras, lenses, VTR’s, non-linear editing systems, crewing and OB kit.

It will be run by Tom McNally, former hire manager at the company’s London branch.

Video Europe head of finance Matt Marner said: “Tom has a detailed knowledge of every conceivable format and has seen a number of new services offered to clients since joining the team, from HD cameras and VTRs to tapeless technology workflows.”

Video Europe is also in the process of adding a range of new acquisition technologies to its rental fleet including the Sony SRW-9000 HDCAM SR camcorder, the Arri Alexa digital film camera and a range of Red, Canon DSLR
and Panasonic P2 HD camcorders.

Also on the shopping list are prime lenses, follow focus systems, lens adaptors and production matte boxes.
