YouTube will use Forbidden Technologies’ cloud video editing platform during the London Olympics.

FORscene will be integrated into YouTube for use by multiple YouTube clients for the editing of live and near-live sports feeds.

YouTube global head of sports content partnerships Claude Ruibal said FORscene would be used for cloud editing and transcoding.

It builds on the December announcement that YouTube had signed a deal with Aim-listed Forbidden to use the company’s FORscene platform.

Forbidden Technologies chief executive Stephen Streater said: “FORscene’s scaleability and ability to edit content as it comes in are well suited to sport. I am happy to have found an opportunity to demonstrate FORscene’s capabilities in a major sports project.”
