Music licencing firm Audio Network has hired Skype executive Kim Clarke as its chief financial officer.

Clarke has worked at Skype, which is owned by Microsoft, since 2011 as a finance director in its application and services group.

Audio Network chief executive Robert Hurst said: “Her appointment to the management team signifies our determination to strengthen the team, technology and systems that underpin our business.”

Hurst has been covering the CFO role since last year following the departure of former finance director Ian Ousey. Ousey worked at the company for a month before he was jailed for embezzling £225,000 from his previous employer FremantleMedia.
