Brief Create content graphics for the 60-minute programme about the scientific workings of the brain.

How it was done Mocha Pro was used to track digital brainwaves emanating from the scientists as they spoke, with bespoke graphics sequences designed to show how areas of the brain react to different creative tasks, such as visual word puzzles, riddles and conundrums.

Creative director Ben Foley, along with designers Claire Taylor, Dan Blore and Karen Kelly, created and composited the sequences in After Effects, using a combination of photographed elements and CGI and animation techniques.

The overall approach was to create a warm personable aesthetic rather than the standard scientific documentary style.
