Martyn Suker has left his position as head of production innovation at ITV Studios.

Suker, who joined ITV in 2011, is returning to freelance consulting as his role had “come to a natural conclusion”.

He said: “[My role] was to help ITV Studios production through its five year technology transformation, and much of that is now complete; as it moves into business as usual the roles will be different.”

Suker has a background in programme making, having previously worked as a cameraman, vision mixer and director before moving into consulting with the likes of Avid, Sony and Siemens.

He added: “I’m going back to consulting as I know there are a lot of companies still struggling with many aspects of file based working and not getting the benefits it can bring – I’d like to share my experience and understanding from the work I’ve done over the last few years.

“We all need to move on now and again to keep ourselves sharp and now is about the right time.”

Suker will speak at Broadcast TECH’s upcoming IP Summit. Click here for more information
