Sundog Media Toolkit chief executive Richard Welsh has been elected by SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) members as the organisation’s new education vice president.

Welsh, who previously worked for Technicolor and Dolby, will now serve as an officer on the SMPTE Board of Governors Executive Committee. 

Welsh previously re-established the SMPTE UK Section, which has since grown into its own SMPTE Region.

He also brought the HPA (Hollywood Professional Association) Tech Retreat to the UK this summer and will chair next year’s event.
