Vitec has acquired Camera Corps in a deal which it described as “a key milestone” for the company.

Vitec said the acquisition would enable it to supply Camera Corps’ pan and tilt camera systems to markets including sports, reality television and entertainment.

Camera Corps will operate within the Vitec Videocom division, whose products include lighting, power, tripods, robotic cameras and prompting solutions.

Vitec Videocom chief executive Joop Janssen (pictured) said the acquisition of Camera Corp would complement the companies in the Vitec Videocom group.

Janssen said: “One of our key aims has been to encourage multi-brand system sales of our globally recognised broadcast, film and pro-video products to simplify the way customers do business worldwide.

“This acquisition will enable us to do just that. We look forward to the opportunity of exploring new sectors and the integration of Camera Corps products into our existing solutions.”

Vitec Group subsidiary Bexel will add Camera Corps products to its rental range.
