Pace debuts home content hub

Pace has developed a ‘Home Content Sharing’ digital video recorder (DVR) for cable operators.

The product is built around a single Network Attached Storage device that provides a central storage ‘hub’ and enables other non-DVR HD set-top boxes in the home to access and share recorded content.

It will be able to distribute nine simultaneous HD streams throughout the home and subscribers will be able to record six HD programmes at the same time.

Rovi’s Connected Platform software is being used to provide standards-based secure content sharing.

“Pace’s product development teams have achieved an important industry first in creating a multiroom DVR platform with a groundbreaking number of simultaneous recordings and HD streams that will delight cable subscribers,” said vice president of sales and marketing Tim O’Loughlin.
