Red Bee Media’s chief commercial officer has become the latest top-level departure from the playout and media management facility.

Alan Wright, who reported to chief executive Bill Patrizio, left the company at the end of February.

His departure came in the same month as that of head of technology operations Bob Johnson, who previously held the role of chief technology officer.

Chief marketing officer Stella Medlicott told Broadcast she was unable to provide further information about Wright’s departure, but said: “The business is very strong at the moment. It is in a very exciting place. It is very dynamic and things do change.”

Medlicott said Wright would not be directly replaced, with director of legal and business affairs James Arnold taking on the role of director of legal and commercial affairs.

Other high-profile departures from the group include chief technology officer Brian Levy, who was appointed in January 2010 and left after six months, and director of digital Ben Schofield, who left in November last year.

Director of customer innovation Steve Plunkett has now taken on the role of director of technology and innovations and will focus on developing new products and services.

Product management has been integrated with marketing, and will be led by Stella Medlicott.

Plunkett and Medlicott will both join Red Bee’s executive leadership team.

Red Bee Media chief executive Bill Patrizio said: “The teams responsible for defining what we sell, why and how we sell it are vital to our growth and success.

“As part of this we have leveraged our outstanding team of talented executives within the organisation to bring about strategic changes that accelerate the company’s achievements and ability to execute on key growth and performance priorities.”
