Software developer The Foundry has won an Oscar at the Scientific and Technical Academy Awards. The London company is honoured for its Furnace effects suite, used by facilities including MPC and Framestore CFC and on films including Casino Royale. The Oscar will be awarded on 10 February. Meanwhile, Framestore CFC has received seven nominations at the Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards, including one for outstanding visual effects on Nigel Marven's ITV1 series Prehistoric Park. The winners are announced in Los Angeles on 11 February.
