Aperi has signed an agreement that will see the cloud hosting firm LeaseWeb offer IP-based production services based on its live media processing virtualization platform.

Leaseweb provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) including dedicated servers, cloud-based servers, CDN services, cybersecurity solutions, colocation and hybrid cloud offerings.

Aperi’s technology can be used to enable remote live production using IP.

At the same time, LeaseWeb’s parent company Ocom BV, is to invest in Aperi. No financial details were revealed.

“LeaseWeb coming on board comes at a great time, not only for us but for the industry,” said Aperi chief executive Joop Janssen (pictured, right). “The investment and the services enabled by the partnership will contribute to Aperi’s ongoing development and help to take us to the next level.”

LeaseWeb is headquartered in Amsterdam and has over 40 PoPs around the world, including several sites in the US.
