Autodesk has unveiled a new workflow and a reduced purchase price for its Smoke finishing system.

The 2009 2K version has a tree-based compositing workflow called Batch FX which combines the editing timeline with a 3D compositing interface.

While a turnkey Smoke HD system with storage will be made available for $64,000 in the US, nearly half the previous suggested retail price.

A promotional price for Smoke 2k will introduced in due course.

Meanwhile, Autodesk Inferno, Flame and Flint have all been enhanced so that they can input Panasonic P2 MXF files.
