Avid Technology is to close its Soho office as part of efforts to reduce the number of administrative centres the manufacturer has in this country.

The Poland Street site, the company's smallest in the UK, will be shut in July.

The 12 staff working there will be offered alternative working arrangements such as relocating to Avid's Pinewood Studios office or working from home.

A spokesperson confirmed: “Our Poland Street office is scheduled to close in July of this year as part of our efforts to consolidate our UK-based offices.”

Avid announced in October that it would be cutting more than 400 jobs worldwide as part of a major restructure.
