3 Mills Studios has promoted Tom Avison to the role of head of studios.

Avison has replaced Derek Mills, who left 3 Mills earlier this year after 10 years with the facility.

In his new role Avison will be responsible for the overall management of 3 Mills and lead the strategic direction of the facility.

He previously held the role of head of sales, having joined 3 Mills three years ago.

Avison said: “3 Mills is a unique facility within the UK in an increasingly crowded and competitive market and we are firmly establishing ourselves as the creative centre for people across the Film, TV and Theatrical worlds, both nationally and internationally.

“It is a very inspiring time to be working at 3 Mills right now and as well as  recent additions to the team, we are looking forward to announcing new partnerships in the coming months.”

Meanwhile, Paul de Carvalho has joined 3 Mills as head of sales and marketing. He previously worked for 20th Century Fox and Screen New South Wales.

TV productions based at 3 Mills include The Enfield Haunting (pictured) for Sky Atlantic and The Royals for E!.
