BBC Broadcast has signed a three-year deal with Telewest Broadband to provide encoding and navigational services for its new TV-on-demand service, Teleport. BBC Broadcast will encode programmes, making them ready for broadcast on the digital platform and provide information which allows digital viewers to search for programmes which interest them. BBC Broadcast will also produce content for the service and its promotional channels.
