The BBC has ordered a Quantel Enterprise sQ system for video editing and playout at its Broadcasting House operation.

The Enterprise sQ HD system, which is equipped with 2600 hours of HD storage across 12 sQ servers, is capable of supporting 158 Quantel editors and 16 Final Cut Pro editors.

There will also be more than 500 workstations equipped with Quantel desktop editors integrated into the BBC’s own Jupiter Asset Management system for use by BBC journalists.

Broadcasting House has undergone a major refurbishment that will see it become the live network broadcasting centre for the broadcaster, with the BBC’s rolling news channel, World Service, radio news, television news and online all due to move into the building.
