In London, BBC Post Production has added a new HD-capable Avid Adrenaline this month and is planning more upgrades. The Adrenaline complements existing HD editing, grading and restoration kit including Quantel eQ, HD Pogle, Spirit and Shadow telecines.Currently the eQ and HD Pogle are HD conforming and grading BBC Films' The Undertaker.

At Bristol, the division has invested in new HD grading and finishing kit to be used on the corporation's HD blockbuster Planet Earth, which has just started posting in uncompressed HD, while BBC Post Production Birmingham is conforming and grading drama The Last Will and Testament of Billy Two-Shedsand an Afternoon Playin HD.

According to BBC Resources head of capital development Andy King, just 5% of BBC Resources' work is currently in HD. The BBC has said it plans to be fully HD in production by 2010.
