Former Channel 4 drama chief had been tasked with finding UK voices and talent to collaborate with

Caroline Hollick has stepped down from her production and development position at The North Road Company after a year in the role.

The former Channel 4 drama boss joined the Peter Chernin-founded company in September with a remit to identify UK-based voices and talent that the company could collaborate with.

She took up the newly created position of senior vice-president of international production and development, working with the Bad Boy indie’s president of television, Amy Israel, and her LA-based team.

During her time with the US-based company, Hollick worked on a North Road slate that includes Heart of a Killer out of Israel. It is unclear if North Road will replace the Hollick, who has updated her LinkedIn profile to freelance exec producer.

The experienced drama exec left C4 last year amid a string of senior departures, having overseen hit shows such as I Am Ruth, Help and It’s a Sin.

Before C4, Hollick served as creative director at the StudioCanal-owned Red Production Company, where she developed hits including Happy Valley (BBC1) and executive produced such projects as Tony Marchant’s Butterfly (ITV1)and Lenny Henry’s Danny and the Human Zoo (BBC1).

North Road oversees a slate of over 80 productions and is expanding its global footprint via acquisitions including that of Karga Seven Pictures in Turkey. Its slate includes Netflix’s The Madness and Apple TV+’s Chief of War, created by Jason Momoa.

The company’s labels range from Chernin Entertainment, 44 Blue Productions, Words + Pictures, Two One Five Entertainment and Kinetic Content, the latter of which recently launched a UK division.

Deadline first reported the news of Hollick’s exit.
