X-Factor and Traitors firms Blu and Strong Production to combine with the latter’s chief exec departing

Fremantle’s restructuring in the Nordics has continued with Danish labels Blu and Strong Production combining and the latter’s chief exec Sune Roland exiting.
The combined entity will be known as Blu and is to led by current chief exec Katrine Herforth.
The Copenhagen-based label will continue to create content across entertainment, reality, lifestyle and factual entertainment for Danish and international markets.
Fremantle, which combined Furia producer Miso Film and Monster’s scripted division less than two weeks ago, said the move would “create a more powerful and streamlined production house.”
Georgette Schlick, chief exec at Fremantle Northern Europe, added that the two companies had been “legally merged” in 2024 and had been working more closely since.
“The positive effect was not only seen by us, but importantly by our clients. It therefore made sense for us to fully integrate these brands,” she added.
Herforth said the “full integration” of the labels would create “a more powerful combined talent offering, to our partners, with creativity, and innovation at our heart, whilst also delivering cost efficiency.”
Blu is behind local versions of X-Factor, Traitors, Farmer Wants a Wife, Race Across the World, Hotel Romantik and Villa of Broken Hearts.
Fremantle’s revenues were revealed last month to have decreased by 5.1% year-on-year to €1.35bn (£1.19bn) from January to September, primarily due to lower returns from the US.
The production and distribution outfit’s parent company, RTL Group, named Warner Bros Discovery exec Clément Schwebig as its new chief exec in November, replacing Thomas Rabe who departs in May 2026.
