5 is to broadcast the opening ceremony of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games live, and then show daily highlights from the Games.

The opening ceremony will be screened under licence from TNT Sports. 5 then partnering with TNT Sports to bring highlights to a free-to-air audience in the UK.

Coverage begins at 8pm on 23 July, on air and streaming on 5, followed by daily highlights hosted by broadcaster and former Olympic sprinter Jeanette Kwakye throughout the competition. 

The highlights will be shown each evening, as well as dropping daily alongside other clips and top moments on the 5 Sport YouTube channel.
