The British and Irish Lions has partnered with TikTok as its official creator platform for the tour of South Africa.

Both the Lions and its South African opponents will distribute match highlights, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, pre and post-match takeovers, and player interviews through the platform.

The behind-the-scenes content will include viewing training sessions, tours of the team bases, and more, and be shared every Saturday. There will also be live content going out through the Lions’ and Springboks’ TikTok accounts - @lionsofficial and @springboks.rugby.

Fans are unable to attend matches in person during the tour, with Covid rates in South Africa making it unsafe for large events.

There are two matches still to go in the series, taking place 31 July and 7 August. The first test between the Lions and the Springboks saw Warren Gatland’s side run out 22-17 winners - leaving South Africa needing to avoid defeat in the next game to keep the series alive going into the final encounter.
