The Channel 4 Ideas Factory film and video initiative New Shoots is to showcase its winners' work online on 1 November.

The winning four-minute entry was from Television Production graduate Chris Sheriff. His piece, For the Love of, tells the story of a Greek father who comes to Britain for a better life and was shot on DVCam and edited on Avid.

The Middlesex University-backed scheme was launched in June to give Middlesex film and TV graduates experience in the industry. However, from early next year, all graduates will be eligible to take part. The three best short films will premiere on www.channel4.com/ideasfactory.
