The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has agreed on the terminology for the marketing of 4K technology.

It said that TVs with more than 8 million pixels – four times the resolution of current HD displays – should be referred to as ‘Ultra High-Definition’ or ‘Ultra HD’ sets. To use the Ultra HD label, display products will need at least one digital input capable of carrying and presenting 4K video at 3,840 X 2,160 resolution.
