Workerbee adaptation of Australian format bows out after two series

Channel 4 has axed dating format Love Triangle after two series on E4.
Love Triangle was Workerbee’s adaptation of Banijay Entertainment stablemate Endemol Shine Australia’s Nine Network format.
The show follows six singles, the ‘pickers’, as they chose between two suitors. After establishing a connection through texting only, the picker then selected one of the suitors to meet and move in with together.
However, the rejected suitor then returned to form a love triangle, and the trio went through the remainder of the experiment together, with the picker ultimately having to choose which suitor they wanted to continue a relationship with.

The first series launched on E4 in April 2024 and secured a 28-day consolidated series average of 322,000 (2%). However, the second outing, which aired in March of this year, only managed a 28-day consolidated average of 110,000 (1%) across nine episodes, according to Barb data provided by overnights.tv.
Endemol Shine Australia is also behind dating juggernaut MAFS Australia, which is an acquisition hit for E4 alongside the channel’s CPL-produced UK version of the reality romance format.
A C4 spokesperson said: “There have been so many reality TV smash hits this year, we have had to make some tough decisions about what is returning.”
Broadcast last week revealed that Workerbee is among nine indies shortlisted to create the next mega-format for BBC and NBCUniversal.
The Sun first reported the news.
