The series will also air in the US on PBS, which is handling international distribution excluding Australia, where it will air on SBS.

The series, which served as notable inspiration for Agatha Christie, will explore the history and route of the train as well as how Europe has changed since the iconic train first launched in 1883.

STV’s Josephine Brassey, currently serving as acting managing director at Rumpus said that the series combines “stunning aerial footage and illuminating historical insight, this series gives viewers a first-class ticket on an iconic journey that was once the pinnacle of luxury travel.”

Rumpus Media and High Rock Media have previously co-produced 2024 series Abandoned Railways From Above, which also sold to Channel 4.

The executive producer of the series is Fintan Maguire, with Rumpus Media forming part of the STV Studios family of labels.

The deal was brokered by Marmalade Sky TV’s Jimmy Humphrey, who acts as consulting producer.
