FilmLight has added a sub-£65k version of Baselight to its range of non-linear colour grading systems.

Known simply as ‘Baselight’ the system costs $95,000 (£61,000) and is capable of handling all inputs and delivering multiple output formats up to and including dual-link RGB 4:4:4 HD.

Configured to work as part of an integrated, file-based workflow, Baselight includes a GPU renderer, Blackboard control surface, Baselight Kompressor and 12 terabyte formatted RAID 5 storage as standard.

It is fully upgradeable through to the top of the range 8 x GPU Baselight.

The new Baselight is on show at NAB 2010.

Filmlight is also showing native support for the MPEG-4 SStP codec on the Sony stand at NAB.

Capturing output from a Sony F35 camera to Sony HDCAM-SR SRW-5800/2 VTR, FilmLight is displaying how it is possible to visualise how the digital film camera output will look in the cinema during shot setup and recording using Truelight On-Set.
