EVS has announced plans to integrate Fareham-based Software Generation Ltd’s (SGL) FlashNet content storage system to its IPDirector range of applications.

EVS said the addition of FlashNet to its suite of video production management tools would enable broadcasters and production companies to transfer media from EVS live production servers to an offline archive.

“As catalogues of content grow over time, simply adding more disk storage isn’t ideal for longer-term offline storage,” said EVS senior vice president marketing Nicolas Bourdon.

“By integrating IPDirector and SGL FlashNet we’ve provided a seamless way for broadcasters to archive their production content.”

Content will be transferred through EVS’ IP2Archive module in IPDirector with FlashNet working across disk and tape storage.
