EVS has added full support for Avid Technology's DNxHD and Apple's ProRes 422 codecs in its XT2 production server.

The multichannel XT2 production server is used for the ingest, organisation and playout of video for studio, OB and other live or near-live productions.

With native support for the DNxHD codec, no transcoding process is required between the XT2 and Avid post-production tools.

DNxHD is the first codec to be compliant with Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers VC-3 standards.

EVS has also announced integration with Final Cut Studio 2 and native support for Apple ProRes 422.

Pierre L'Hoest, EVS chief executive, said:. "We are proud to give Final Cut Pro users what they've been asking for: the ability to access media recorded on our XT[2] production servers instantly without requiring any transcoding.”
