Filmlight goes into video post market

Its next generation Baselight colour-grading systems, Baselight Four and Baselight Eight, will also be available with video capability. The systems allow real-time grading of 4K or multiple 2K streams, with the Baselight Eight designed as a 'Hero Suite' by Filmlight.

Filmlight sales manager Andy Johnston said: 'We're offering a combined software and hardware solution which gives a genuine alternative to the hardware of Da Vinci and Pogle. We're aiming to be seen as a major contender in the next 12 months.'

Filmlight has developed a video combiner over the past two years that allows multiple processors to work on an image simultaneously, which it believes makes it faster than other grading systems.
