IBC 2013: Filmlight will showcase a smaller version of its on-set tool Baselight Flip in Amsterdam.

The slimmed down, battery-powered Flip will also include connectivity for two cameras and the ability to log grading metadata to data from an Arri Alexa over WiFi.

IBC will also be the setting for the unveiling of Baselight 4.4, an upgrade to the grading system which features composite-style layer blending and simplified workflows.

Baselight 4.4 runs on all Baselight systems, including the new Baselight One diskless tower system.

Filmlight co-founder Wolfgang Lempp said: “We pride ourselves on being a forward-thinking company, right at the forefront of innovation. In support of this, what we now offer is ‘Baselight everywhere’, not just in the grading suite but on set, in finishing and in editorial.”

The latest edition of Baselight Editions, which allows Avid editors to cut in Media Composer or Symphony with Baselight grades applied in a render-free round-trip workflow, will also be on display.
