New London-based indie Farringdon Road Films is making the first UK soap, specifically designed for mobile phones.

Brick-it, described as a cross between Hollyoaks and 24, follows the lives of a group of youths, either living in a flat share or living at home.

A five-minute episode will be available every weekday for subscribers with video-enabled phones.

Set up specifically to make the mobile soap, Farringdon Road Films has made two weeks' worth of content with more to follow in time for a January launch.

As yet no mobile network has been signed up.

Series director Henry Mason, who directed short films The Communion and A West Country, said the creation of the soap represented "a major step-change in the production of downloadable content".

Series producer is Rhun Francis who has previously worked as an assistant producer and production manager on films such as Eyes Wide Shut, and Shakespeare In Love.
