Forbidden Technologies has signed an agreement with Ericsson that will allow the Sweden-based tech firm to build cloud services running Forbidden’s FORscene platform.

Forbidden said the income from deals with systems integrators who build and sell their own cloud servers running its software is expected to be larger than individual direct sales to broadcast post-production clients.

CEO Stephen Streater said: “The willingness of systems integrators to adopt FORscene validates Forbidden’s strategy of approaching them during last year.

“Their access to world markets will make a significant impact on Forbidden’s chances of being a major player in the market for professional cloud-based video tools.”

FORscene is a cloud-based video editing and logging systems. Video is transferred as required between a FORscene server and Forbidden’s cloud network automatically and on-demand, with edits and metadata instantly synchronised.
