Framestore CFC added two Emmys to its collection at the weekend for its work on ground-breaking programmes Dinotopia and Walking with Beasts, writes Barbara Marshall. The wins - for outstanding special visual effects (Dinotopia) and outstanding animated programme (Beasts) - bring the firm's total number of Emmys won in the last seven years to 10. Dinotopia, produced in collaboration with Hallmark and ABC Television and currently showing on Sky One, was Framestore CFC's most ambitious foray into televised creature animation. The six-hour miniseries was more than two years in the making and featured over 1,800 digital effects shots. The Blue Planet and Shackleton were also credited at Saturday's (14 September) primetime creative arts awards, each picking up two statues for cinematography and music.
