Grass Valley has unveiled a new ingest and edit option for its Edius editing system.

Simul Capture Option, which was launched at Broadcast Asia this week, allows users to ingest live video on one Edius client while they edit it on a different Edius client.

Grass Valley says it will be suited to live productions, with simultaneous editing of live feeds allowing for the quick turnaround of breaking news and the swift creation of playlists. 

Videos can be ingested as MXF format as well as AVI format.

It will be available for the suggested retail price of £1,240 ($2,000) from next month.
