Publishing company Haymarket has paid a reputed£20m for the freehold ownership of the land that houses the Teddington Studios. The studios will be unaffected by the purchase. The move brings to an end speculation that the site would be sold for redevelopment, potentially disrupting the running of the studios. Haymarket plans to refurbish offices on the site, which was previously owned by property developers Howard Holdings. Barnes Trust Media, which owns Teddington Studios, has a 25-year lease on the studio part of the site. Other current TV tenants are being relocated nearby.
