Video Europe has bought the Vision Research high speed camera for£50,000 which Sky is set to use on its cricket coverage and which could prove to be influential in controversial game decisions. The maximum speed of recording is 4,800 frames per second but it is expected to operate closer to 1,000 for broadcast use. The slow-motion footage will be used for bowling analysis and reviewing referee decisions on difficult to call decisions. TWI will use the camera, which was initially designed for military and industrial uses such as studying the ballistic impact of bullets, for Sky's coverage of the one-day international in Jamaica on 7 May.
