Film processing lab idailies is expanding with the addition of a second processor.

The Photomec processor, which will allow the west London firm to develop 100,000 feet of film per day, will be operational within a month.

Idailies co-founder Nigel Horne said: “We have a passion for film and this is all about us keeping film as a viable medium.

“There has been a dramatic reduction in capacity so we would like to do the best we can to step in and help.

“It is a niche business but there is still demand from film and TV; we are seeing a few dramas shot on film this year, including Doc Martin on 16mm.”

Idailies offers a rushes service including negative processing, Spirit transfers and the encoding of SD and HD files.
