Input Media and Gearhouse Broadcast have teamed up to provide a media hub for the Australian Open, which started this week.

Input Media is supplying two daily highlights shows for international distribution, coverage of press conferences and player interviews for Tennis Australia, as well as content for the internet and a digital archive.

Kit supply firm Gearhouse worked with Input Media at the Roland Garros tennis tournament.

Input Media managing director Neil Oughton told Broadcast that the work the production facility had done at the French Open stood it in good stead for the Australian competition.

“It’s not a full replication of what we do in France but the principle of a server-based hub that is used to drive the coverage is the same,” he said.

Input Media has 12 UK staff working in Australia, including director of technology Nick Symes, director of technical operations John Williams and a mixture of engineers, production staff, EVS operators and Avid editors, together with 15 local hires.
