The 12-week battle to decide on Britain's Best Sitcom begins this weekend and, to help the nation choose, Mainframe has produced the branding package for the series.

Commissioned by BBC Manchester after an eight-way pitch, the job included set design and illustration. Mainframe made simple, stylised drawings of sitcom heroes and used their characteristics to make them recognisable, as in most cases they were illustrated without faces. The sequences were created using After Effects in a 3D space. The Mainframe team was made up of Carl Fairweather, Nic Freeman, Terry Lewis, Marcus Morseby, Paul Thomas and Mark Warrington. Britain's Best Sitcom will air on Sundays on BBC2.
