Minicams has launched its Mini- Rig portable production unit (PPU).

The unit, which has been used on ITV ob doc Happy Families, is designed for fixedrig filming and has robotic cameras.

It allows quick installations and features multiple audio channels and HD video streams.

The company said it is easy to control due to its “customisable graphical user interface and touch-screen control panel”.

It controls, monitors and switches between groups of Panasonic HD PTZ cameras.

Up to 64 mics are routed into the MADI-connected system and 32 can be assigned to the control surface at any one time.
